Aslak Witry has expressed his delight after completing a return to Rosenborg, the club where he previously played as a youth scholar. The experienced 29-year-old becomes the latest addition to a squad that has seen several key players depart in recent weeks.
Rosenborg Reacts to Major Departures
Rosenborg have had to contend with significant changes during the current transfer window. Lille have confirmed the signing of Marius Broholm, while Sverre Nypan has reached an agreement to join Manchester City. Although Nypan’s transfer has not yet been finalised, he has stopped featuring for the team, which has undoubtedly weakened the squad.
The departures have prompted a need for reinforcements, and the club is expected to continue strengthening in the coming weeks. Witry’s arrival provides a timely boost, both in terms of experience and leadership, as the team seeks to stabilise and improve performances.
Witry Brings Valuable Experience
Witry rejoins Rosenborg following stints in the Netherlands with AZ Alkmaar and in Bulgaria with Ludogorets Razgrad. These experiences have made him one of the most seasoned professionals available to the club, and he is expected to play an important role both on and off the pitch.
In an interview with VG, Witry spoke about what returning to Rosenborg means to him: “It is a club that is constantly developing. Who have shown that they dare to invest and want to return to where they belong.
“Every time Rosenborg is mentioned as an alternative, it’s cool. Then there’s something about being abroad that’s cool too. So then it becomes a fun thought and then you put it aside. But then something triggers in you and it’s kind of become more and more interesting in the last 14 days.”
His comments reflect not only enthusiasm for the move but also a recognition of Rosenborg’s ambitions and legacy. With more additions expected in the near future, RBK will hope to use Witry’s arrival as a catalyst for a strong second half of the season.
