Sondre Tronstad was a favourite at Blackburn, where he played between 2023 and 2026, but he left the club as a free agent this summer.
It has not taken him long to find a new team, and according to BT, he is set to join SK Brann. The Norwegian club are losing Felix Horn Myhre, who has just completed a move to West Brom, and they would certainly welcome a replacement for him.
Tronstad returns to Norway
Brann have now secured the signature of Tronstad, who is returning to Norway for the first time since 2020, when he moved to Vitesse from Haugesund.
The midfielder played in over 100 games for Blackburn in the Championship and became one of the supporters’ favourites at the club. Blackburn would have liked to keep him, but at 30, they felt the time had come for him to move on.
Tronstad will now continue his career at one of the finest clubs in Norwegian football at the moment. His return home represents a new stage in his career after several years competing abroad.

The midfielder arrives as an experienced signing who has played in both England and the Netherlands. His time at Blackburn gave him valuable experience, while his spell abroad has helped him develop as a player.
