Bodø/Glimt confirm the sale of Jeppe Kjær to Mjällby

Jeppe Kjær

Bodø/Glimt has confirmed the departure of Jeppe Kjær, who has now joined Swedish side Mjällby.

The 21-year-old forward moved to the Norwegian club from Ajax in 2023 and was regarded as one of the most promising young players at the Dutch side. Although several teams expressed interest in signing him, he chose to join Glimt in order to further his development in a competitive environment.

Struggles for Playing Time and Loan Spells

During his spell at Bodø/Glimt, Kjær faced intense competition for minutes on the pitch and was ultimately unable to secure a regular place in the squad. As a result, he spent time on loan at Sandefjord and Fredrikstad, gaining valuable match experience. Upon returning to Glimt, he was included in the squad for European fixtures against Lazio and Tottenham, though he still found first-team opportunities limited.

Kjær has now made the decision to leave the club permanently, signing for Mjällby in the Swedish top flight. The move comes as Bodø/Glimt continues to reshape its squad, making room for emerging talent and adjusting its roster for future challenges.

Reflections on His Time in Norway

As cited by Glimt.no, the player looked back on his experience with gratitude and hope for the future. “I have had a good time in Bodø/Glimt. I have learned a lot, and it has been fun to be part of a fantastic football team. It has been great to experience the interest from the fans, who are there in good times and bad,” says Jeppe Kjær.

“Now I’m going to try something new, and I hope that Mjällby is a good step.”

The transfer marks a new chapter for Kjær, who will be aiming to establish himself in the Swedish league and continue his growth as a professional footballer.
