Europa League – Brann will host Rangers in league phase

Europa League trophy

SK Brann has been drawn in the same league phase route as Rangers and Fenerbahce, among other clubs.

They became the second Norwegian side to qualify for the league phase of a major European tournament this season after Bodø Glimt.

Norwegian teams are beginning to perform well on the continental stage, and Brann faced a significant challenge in their playoff tie against AEK Larnaca.

They won the first leg 2-1, a match in which their opponents still believed they could overturn the deficit in the return leg in Cyprus.

However, Brann were determined, and they capitalised on the sending off of one home player to defeat them 4-0.

It was the perfect night for them, and they will now aim to make an impression in the league phase of the Europa League.

There are some top sides in the competition, and Brann have now been drawn against several of them. Following the draw on the UEFA website, Brann will face:

Rangers Home

Lille Away

Fenerbahce Home

PAOK Away

Midtjylland Home

Sturm Graz Away

Utrecht Home

Bologna Away

Most of these opponents are teams that many will expect to beat Brann, but that works to their advantage as they can approach these matches with less pressure.
