Fredrikstad’s bid for KFUM star called “disgraceful”

Johannes Nuñez

Fredrikstad have expressed strong interest in signing KFUM’s Johannes Nuñez, but their opening proposal for the forward has drawn sharp criticism from his current club. Nuñez has been among the most productive players in the Norwegian top flight in recent seasons, contributing nine goals and assists combined in just 13 league matches this term.

KFUM view the attacker as a key figure in their squad, yet they acknowledge that the transfer market can lead to unexpected departures. The club remains open to discussions if an offer meets their valuation, making Fredrikstad’s approach a potential opportunity.

KFUM’s Stance on the Transfer

Fredrikstad, having sold several players recently, are seeking reinforcements to bolster their squad, and Nuñez fits the profile they require. However, their first bid fell well short of expectations. KFUM quickly rejected the proposal, regarding it as unworthy of serious consideration for a player of his calibre.

The door is not entirely closed, and a transfer remains possible before the window shuts, but KFUM’s leadership have made it clear they will not sanction a move without an acceptable financial package.

Reaction from Club Leadership

Speaking to TV2, KFUM executive Thor Erik Stenberg made his position plain, stating, “We have rejected a bid, and it was what we consider to be a disgraceful bid. We do not think the approach taken by Fredrikstad is very okay.”

Such a public response underscores the gap between the two clubs’ valuations and places the onus on Fredrikstad to return with a more compelling offer if they wish to secure the forward’s services. With the transfer window still open, the situation remains fluid, but KFUM appear determined to stand firm in protecting their asset unless negotiations take a more respectful and financially satisfying turn.
