Brann has confirmed the signing of Jacob Lungi Sørensen as they look to add more experience and stability to their squad ahead of the new campaign.

In Norwegian football, the trend often sees top local talents being sold abroad, primarily to England and other European countries. Very few experienced professionals move in the opposite direction unless they are from smaller footballing nations.

Brann Makes a Statement with an Experienced Signing

Norwegian clubs typically thrive on the development and sale of emerging stars, with transfer fees often playing a crucial role in their financial stability. However, when it comes to building a squad capable of challenging for silverware, investing in quality and seasoned professionals is necessary.

Brann appears to have taken that route by securing Sørensen, who featured in 27 league games for Norwich City last season. The 27-year-old Danish midfielder still had opportunities to continue his career elsewhere, but Brann managed to persuade him to commit to the Eliteserien.

Sørensen Embraces a Fresh Start in Bergen

Speaking to TV2, Sørensen expressed his enthusiasm for the move and how quickly things developed:

“It came a little unexpectedly and quickly. When I came here and met people and a couple of players in the locker room, it also convinced me. I’m looking forward to having a great experience in Bergen.”

When asked about relocating with his family, he added:

“We are looking for a home and starting a new life in Bergen.”

The arrival of Sørensen not only boosts Brann’s midfield depth but also signals their ambition to compete more aggressively in domestic competitions.
