Leeds United planning double swoop on Champions League side

Bodø/Glimt’s heroes could depart at the end of the season following their remarkable run in the Champions League and the significant attention it has generated.

The Norwegian side took a commanding step towards the quarter finals with a stunning 3,0 victory over Sporting CP in the first leg of their last 16 tie at Aspmyra Stadion.

Goals from Sondre Brunstad Fet, Ole Didrik Blomberg, and Kasper Høgh, who was assisted by Jens Petter Hauge, placed the hosts firmly in control ahead of the return leg in Lisbon.

Leeds monitoring key performers

The performance has not gone unnoticed across Europe. Several clubs are now monitoring players who have been central to Bodø/Glimt’s impressive European campaign.

A report from TEAMtalk states that Leeds United sent scouts to watch both Høgh and Hauge, two of the club’s standout performers this season.

The pair have been in exceptional form across all competitions and have played crucial roles in Bodø/Glimt’s progress in Europe. Høgh has delivered important goals during the campaign, while Hauge has provided creativity and assists in attacking areas.

Their displays against strong opposition have further increased their visibility, with clubs keen to assess whether their performances could translate to other leagues.

Summer interest expected

Leeds is among the sides expected to consider strengthening their squad in the upcoming transfer window. The club are focused on securing their Premier League status and is likely to reinvest in the team if they remain in the top flight.

Recruitment plans could therefore include players who have demonstrated both form and potential during European competition, making Høgh and Hauge logical targets.

However, the English club may face stiff competition. The attention surrounding Bodø/Glimt’s Champions League run means that larger clubs could also become interested in the duo before the summer window opens.

At the same time, some elite teams may approach such a move cautiously. There is often uncertainty about how players performing in the Norwegian league, even with strong Champions League displays, will adapt to the demands and intensity of a top-tier European league.

For Leeds, that uncertainty could present an opportunity, but convincing the players to choose Elland Road over other possible destinations may still prove a significant challenge.
