After playing 11 league matches for Notts County this year, Harald Nilsen Tangen could not convince the club to sign him permanently following his loan spell.
He played some important games for the League One side, but he did not do enough to convince them to make his move permanent, even though an option to buy had been agreed in advance. Sarpsborg 08 had been confident that he would join Notts County permanently, but that move never happened.
Tangen Leaves Sarpsborg 08 Again
Sarpsborg 08 have now decided to send the 25-year-old out on loan again so that he can gain regular playing time. The club announced on its website that the midfielder is leaving on loan once more, this time to join Vendsyssel in Denmark.
Tangen would have loved to remain in England, but he failed to impress enough during his time with Notts County. He will now have to prove his worth in Denmark and show that he can produce the performances needed to earn another opportunity.
There is no space for him in the current Sarpsborg 08 team, making another loan spell the best option for the midfielder at this stage. The move to Vendsyssel will give him an opportunity to play regularly and rebuild his confidence.
Sarpsborg Hope for Regular Playing Time
Sarpsborg 08 are hoping that Tangen can benefit from his time in Denmark and return with greater experience. The club will also want to see him establish himself as an important player for Vendsyssel.
Their sports manager Hampus Andersson said: “Harald has struggled to record into our fighting squad. After a stay in Notts County, opportunities are now waiting in Denmark where we hope and believe it will be a lot of playing time and a solid riot for Harald,”
Tangen will now focus on making the most of his latest loan move. After failing to secure a permanent transfer to Notts County, he has another chance to demonstrate his ability in Denmark and work towards finding a place in Sarpsborg 08’s plans in the future.
