Ole Gunnar Solskjær is aiming to finish the season strongly as he continues his tenure as the manager of Besiktas. The Norwegian took charge of the Turkish side at the beginning of this year and has been given the responsibility of securing European qualification for next season.
Under his leadership, Besiktas have performed solidly in the Turkish Super Lig and currently sit behind the leading duo of Fenerbahce and Galatasaray. With the top two locked in a battle for the title, the remaining European places are highly contested, and Besiktas remain firmly in the mix.
Focus on Securing Third Place
Solskjær’s side are presently occupying third position in the table with only a handful of matches remaining. Maintaining this standing is critical for the club, as dropping below it would be considered a disappointment by the management. The manager is fully aware of what is at stake and has called on his players to remain focused during the run-in.
Speaking to Dagbladet, Solskjær emphasised the importance of finishing the season well, stating, “Qualifying for Europe is very important. Now our only focus is third place. We have to concentrate on the last three games. Our approach in training over the last 3 to 4 weeks has been very good. For me that is very important. The players have had an excellent attitude. The most important thing now is to finish the last three games and achieve our goal.”
