Rosenborg are reportedly targeting Randers midfielder Simen Bolkan as one of their key summer transfer priorities. RBK are prepared to reinvest in their squad after recently cashing in on some of their most promising talents, including Sverre Nypan, who completed a move to Manchester City.
With funds available, RBK are in a position to make strategic acquisitions and is casting its net domestically and abroad. Bolkan, who currently plays for Randers in Denmark, has emerged as a significant option due to his outstanding form and existing ties to Norwegian football.
A productive season in Denmark draws attention
Bolkan joined Randers in 2023 but began his professional journey in Norway, having previously played for HamKam and Aalesund. His familiarity with Norwegian football could make a return to the Eliteserien a seamless transition. Since moving to Denmark, he has become a vital part of Randers’ squad, consistently delivering strong performances in midfield.
His record last season has been particularly impressive. Bolkan scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 32 league matches, making him one of the most statistically productive players in both Denmark and Norway. This level of output has inevitably drawn interest from clubs seeking to strengthen their attacking midfield options.
Rosenborg make their move
As cited by VG, Randers football director Søren Pedersen acknowledged Rosenborg’s interest while also confirming the status of the communication between the clubs. “We have not received anything from Rosenborg,” he said to VG. However, when asked whether discussions between the two sides were taking place, he added: “Yes, I can.”
Rosenborg’s intent to sign Bolkan suggests they are prioritising immediate reinforcements to maintain their competitive position in Norwegian football. With Bolkan’s proven productivity and experience in both Norway and Denmark, the potential move could be beneficial for all parties involved, provided an agreement is reached in the coming weeks.
