Sverre Nypan has officially completed his record-breaking move to Manchester City, marking a significant step in the young Norwegian’s career. The midfielder will now hope to continue his development at one of Europe’s most demanding and ambitious clubs.
Nypan made his professional debut for Rosenborg in November 2022 at just 15 years of age, setting multiple records with that appearance. While many young talents emerge in Norwegian football each year, few go on to fulfil the promise expected of them at the highest levels of the game.
However, Nypan has since demonstrated that he is a player of considerable potential. His steady improvement and maturity on the pitch quickly elevated him to a key role at RBK, drawing attention from several major clubs across Europe before Manchester City secured his signature.

In the 2023 season, Nypan began to feature more consistently in the Rosenborg first team. Although he managed only five goals and one assist in 23 league appearances, his performances were noted for their intelligence and maturity.
