Turkish club ready to outbid Newcastle United for coveted striker

Alexander Sørloth continues to attract attention from some of the biggest clubs in world football, with the striker now the subject of serious interest from another suitor. His consistent performances and physical profile have ensured he remains highly rated across Europe, even when he has not always been a guaranteed starter at club level.

Newcastle United have tracked Sørloth closely since the summer and remain keen on securing his signature. The Premier League side boasts several high-quality players in their current squad, but there is a clear view that an experienced striker is missing from their attacking options. Sørloth is seen as a player capable of filling that gap, offering presence, experience and reliability in front of goal.

Situation at Atletico Madrid

Despite his reputation, Sørloth is not an automatic starter for Atletico Madrid, although he has been given more opportunities in recent matches. The striker is determined to remain relevant at the Spanish club and continue contributing whenever called upon. His ability to deliver value in matches has not gone unnoticed by Atletico, who still see him as a useful part of their squad.

However, competition for places and growing interest from elsewhere mean his long-term future remains uncertain. While Newcastle maintain its interest, they are not the only club monitoring developments, and the situation has evolved significantly in recent weeks.

Fenerbahce push intensifies

Fenerbahce are now pushing hard to add Sørloth to its squad and has stepped up its efforts to reach an agreement. According to Sporten, the Turkish club previously submitted a bid of 25 million euros, which Atletico did not feel was sufficient. Undeterred, Fenerbahce have returned with an improved offer of 30 million euros and believe this proposal could now be accepted.

Atletico are seriously considering the offer, even though Sørloth continues to provide value when he plays. Discussions between the clubs are ongoing as they attempt to find common ground. While no final decision has yet been made, there is a growing belief that a deal is possible if terms can be agreed.

As talks continue, Sørloth’s future remains open, with multiple clubs watching closely to see where the experienced striker will take the next step in his career.
