David Møller Wolfe has been given permission to travel to Germany for a medical at Hamburger SV after the German side and Wolves reached an agreement over his move.
Wolfe was a key member of the Wolves team last season as they were relegated and had been keen to find a new club in the top flight. Several of his teammates from last season have changed clubs following their relegation, and he was hopeful that the same would happen for him.
Wolves spent the last few weeks preparing for the season, hoping to ensure that players who wanted to leave could be sold or loaned out. They knew Wolfe was keen to move, and when Hamburger showed serious interest, they agreed a deal.
Wolfe prepares for medical
According to Nettavisen, the agreement will see Wolfe move to Germany on loan, with an option to make the transfer permanent. The arrangement gives the left-back an opportunity to continue his career in a top flight after Wolves’ relegation.
Wolfe is happy to have secured the move to the German top flight and is now doing his best to pack his bags and travel for the medical. He hopes everything goes well so that he can complete the transfer and begin his new chapter.
The move also gives the defender the chance to test himself against stronger opposition after his time with Wolves. His performances in England had already shown his quality, and a move to the Bundesliga could provide another important opportunity.
Chance to impress in Germany
In Germany, Wolfe will compete against some of the world’s best attackers, which should help him showcase his quality at a higher level. Facing difficult opponents regularly could also accelerate his development as he adapts to a new league.
The Norwegian will hope that his performances at Hamburger can help him establish himself and attract attention from bigger clubs. A successful spell in Germany could therefore become an important step in his career.
For now, his immediate priority is completing the medical and finalising the move. Wolfe has been waiting for an opportunity to leave Wolves after their relegation, and Hamburger’s interest has given him the chance to continue playing in a top flight.
